My name is Michaela, I am a person-centred counsellor which means I'm here to support you in an empathetic, non- judgemental approach, in a safe, confidential space.
As a person -centered counsellor, I have worked with adults 18+ face to face, online & telephone. Before training as a counsellor I worked in healthcare and have over 26 years professional experience working in the NHS supporting adults and their families in hospital and the community.
Counselling is your time to explore what is important to you.
At times in our lives we all experience challenges, loss, pain and changes that can be hard for us to understand and process. Counselling enables us to take the time to work through these experiences and gain a better understanding.
As a counsellor I have ongoing formal supervision for my work in accordance with professional requirements, during supervision client confidentiality will be maintained.
Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy – and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.
Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression – many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems – and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.
